Welcome to the Bangor & District Bowling League Website
Wed 13th May
IMPORTANT REMINDER - Tonights cup matches. The individual game score cards start at zero for each player, with no handicap added to the game score card. The teams handicap is the 8 players handicaps who play in the match added together to give the team handicap and are AUTOMATICALLY entered to the final match score when the results of the 8 games are imput on the MB site. Players individual handicaps are found on the club registration pages. So before the game starts team captains can look at the players handicaps and add them together so that they know what theirs and the oppositions handicaps are for the match.
Sat 25th AprA new link has been added on the left hand side of the home page with the "BCGBA Rules of the Game" now available for any new or even experienced bowlers to reference if they are unsure of or need any clarification of the rules of the game.
Wed 22nd AprClub players handicaps are now available on the club registration pages. There are a number of players who have no bowling history due to not playing in league bowls for many years but are still registered for clubs. I shall monitor the league results for 2026 until the week before this seasons cup matches start and any players who are currently without history will be assessed for a handicap if they have played league matches this season.
For player who have not played any games, the club secretaries have been informed of players without history via email and can supply bowlers history to Tim Williams who will then forward onto me for handicap assesment before the cup matches start in May. If no history is provided and they have not played any league games in 2026, then the players handicap will remain at zero for the 2026 season.
There are two new links on the left hand side home page which explains how the handicap system works and how to enter match results. It also shows an example of how the 2025 cup semi finals and finals would have ended if the current handicaps had been applied in those games.
