Post on behalf of Robert Stirling, Packhorse Secretary
Subject: Potential Flat Green County Matches 2023
As discussed, I am involved in flat green bowls as well as crown green and we have a number of opportunities to play competitive flat green matches in 2023.
Specifically we are looking for any interested girls aged under 31 years old to play in the Amy Rose Bowl. Lancashire are already through to the regional final which is to be played on Sun 11th June, probably in Yorkshire or Northumberland and then if successful, the national semi final and final will be on one day sometime in August in Leamington Spa. 3 games to win a national title! The format is 2 teams of fours (8 players).
Along similar lines we are looking for any interested boys aged under 25 years old to play in the White Rose Trophy. Lancashire have a few games to play in this, the prelim is by 14th May, the regional semi is Sun 28th May and the regional final is to be played on Sun 11th June, probably in Yorkshire or Northumberland. Then if successful, the national semi final and final will be on one day sometime in August in Leamington Spa. 5 games to win a national title! The format is 2 teams of fours (8 players) and we reached the national semi-finals last year.
As a county, Bowls Lancashire have ring-fenced money to put into these teams, so county shirts will be provided, and we will be able to source bowls for players to use. We will also arrange as many coaching days as required in advance of the matches.
I would appreciate if you can circulate to your contacts and I hope we have some takers from Cheshire. Look forward to your response.
Thanks,
See contact details below

Whitby Cup Game eligibility will be as per Rule 3.14 in the handbook and rules on this site.

Some rounds are on Monday and some down as Tuesday games so if there are clashes for certain teams with the Sandbach or Runcorn League so I would ask that Teams are flexible if a game needs to be switched to the day prior or the day after so we can maximise the entry
