Phil Hoare: Chairman, Stamford & District Bowls League
We are sad to report that Phil Hoare, chairman of Stamford & District Bowls League, died on Wednesday morning (March 25) at Peterborough & District Hospital, aged 80. A former sports editor of Peterborough Evening Telegraph he was a keen cricketer, playing in Devon - his home county - Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. In later years he was a member of Ketton Bowls Club and Stamford Indoor Bowls Association.
Phil Hoare's funeral will take place on Wednesday 20th May at 11 am at Peterborough Crematorium and afterwards at the White Hart at Ufford.
